GREENUS Project
What is GREENUS? GREENUS (GREEN waste management new edUcation System for recycling and environmental protection in asia) is an Erasmus+ project funded by the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency) under the Key Action 2 (Capacity building in the field of higher education) with the participation of 3 partners from Europe, 2 partners from Myanmar, 3 partners from Vietnam, and 11 associate partners, coordinated by Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) for the period 2021-2024.
Why implementing GREEENUS? GREENUS will contribute to improving the current situation in the Partner Countries by: building capacity for academic excellence in training in environmental studies, identifying solutions and create more access and opportunity for all students, and creating new market job opportunities.
The specific objectives of GREENUS are: 1To increase the local competences on Waste Management and recycling processes
2To promote a dialogue between higher education institutions in Europe and in Vietnam and Myanmar, in order to facilitate the reciprocal recognition of competences and credits and inform Asian Universities on the European University system: Bologna Process, Quality Evaluation, and Internationalization.
3To make Asian and European Universities’ education and training comparable, by elaborating 6 new courses that respect the quality parameters of all countries and promote the mobility of students and professors/researchers/staffs, as well as the cooperation between Universities.
4To spread a new recycling culture and the importance of differentiated collection within the Universities, promoting the use of an innovative waste collection system by implementing the pilot ECO-CAMPUS project in the Partner Countries.
5To facilitate the employability of graduate students by actively involving local authorities and companies (stakeholders) in the activities of the project.
6To enhance the quality of the Asian education system through professors/researchers exchange to share their experience in the field of waste management and their knowledge on the European university system
